The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church conducted the ordainment of Archimandrite Siluan (Salari) intro the dignity of Bishop of Orhei, Vicar of the Metropolis of Chisinau and All Moldova

Friday, 4th November, on the Feast of The Icon of the Theotokos of Kazan, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Dormition of the Theotokos, and lead the ordainment of Archimandrite Siluan (Salari) into the dignity of Bishop of Orhei, Vicar of the Metropolis of Chisinau and All Moldova.

Concelebrating at the Divine Service were His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova, Metropolitan Hillarion of Volokolamsk, President of the Department of External Church Relations, Metropolitan Isaiah of Tamasos and Orini, Archbishop Sava of Tiraspol and Dubasari, Bishop Anatolie of Cahul and Comrat, Bishop Serghii of Solnechnogorsk, Head of Administrative Secretariat of Moscow Patriarchy, Bishop Nicodim of Edinet and Briceni, Bishop Ioan of Soroca, Vicar of the Metropolis of Chisinau and All Moldova, Archpriest Vladimir Divakov, Secretary of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, in-charge with Moscow, Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Secretary of the Metropolis of Chisinau and All Moldova, and clerics of the Orthodox Church of Moldova and of Moscow.

After the ordainment, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill advised His Grace Bishop Siluan (Salari) to pray to the Lord, asking for power and wisdom, to be able to bear the Cross of a bishop with humility and for the well-being of the Holy Orthodox Church and of its people, thirsty of spiritual guidance and consolidation in faith.

Thanking to His Holiness for the righteous pastoral advice, His Grace Siluan mentioned that through the Patriarch’s prayers and blessing, he would devote all powers in order to perform the entrusted ministry, for the perseverance of the Holy Gospel of Christ and for the salvation of the faithful.

His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir also wished His Grace Bishop Siluan to pray fervently for the people of Moldova, in order to actively participate in the life of the Moldovan Church, along with the Metropolitan and all other archpastors.

It should be mentioned that along with the clergy of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, praying at this Patriarchal service was also the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Russian Federation, His Excellence Mr. Dumitru Braghis, who congratulated the newly ordained Bishop of the Moldovan Orthodox Church.
