27th August 2017, on the 12th Sunday after Pentecost, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau, assisted by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, the Metropolitan Secretary and Cathedral Dean, and the clergy of the Cathedral, who prayed in the presence of numerous church-goers.

The Orthodox Church revokes on the 12th Sunday after Pentecost the Gospel Reading of Holy Apostle Mathew 19: 16-26, relating about the conversation between Lord Jesus Christ and a young rich man. The entire spiritualized humanity has ever lived with the same question: What good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

This conversation teaches us many things. First of all, that we should never flatter, that is, cajole anyone, but be righteous and say things as they are. Another important moment is that morality alone cannot make us perfect – good things without faith are not enough for true spiritual ascension. And, most importantly, in order to be perfect, one should deny himself and follow Christ with all his heart, with all his being.

During the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir officiated priesthood ordination of deacon Serghei Paiu, who was appointed to Chisinau parish of the Dormition of the Theotokos.

After the thanks-giving prayers, the Christians listened to the pastoral guidance message, giving glory to God.
