The Nativity of St. John the Forerunner – Patron Feast at Frumoasa Monastery

Today, 7th July, the skete of Frumoasa Monastery celebrated its summer Patron Feast, of the Nativity of Saint John the Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord.

The event started with the Great Vespers and Litia service in the eve of the Holiday, and early morning on the 7th July (24th June in the Church Calendar), the monastics, the ctitors, and pilgrims gathered went in a Cross Procession to the Monastery’s skete, then Aghiasma – the Holy Water was blessed and the Divine Liturgy was celebrated.

In the end the superior of the monastery, mother Paisia (Obroc), and the monastic inhabitants, treated the pilgrims with an Agape, to share the spiritual joy of the day.
