As mentioned previously, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova is leading a group of Moldovan pilgrims to the Holy Land on 8-15 December.
The group includes priests and lay Christians of the Orthodox Church of Moldova. The pilgrims have visited important holy places in Israel, places where our Lord Jesus Christ was born, preached, suffered, was crucified, and rose from the dead. Thus, sites important for the entire Christianity were visited:
Jesusalem: the Tomb of the Lord, Golgotha, the Stone of unction, the Chamber of the Last Supper, the place of the Dormition of the Mother of God, Mount Elion (the place of the Ascension of the Lord), Getsimani Garden, the Tomb of the Mother of God, Vithesda, the Road of Passions (Via Dolorosa);
Bethlehem: St. Theodosius Monastery, St. Sava the Sanctified Monastery;
Hebron: The Mamre Oak;
Galilee: Nazareth, Lake of Tiberias, Cana of Galilee, Mount Tabor, Capernaum, Magdala;
Jordan, Jericho: Mount of Temptations, Monastery of Rev. Gherasim of Jordan, Monastery of Hozevits, Mount of Judea – the place of birth of St. John the Baptizer, Lida, Jaffa.
Bless, Oh Lord, all pilgrims to the Holy Land, so that they return healthy, in peace and safety, glorifying You with all their hearts. Amen!”
