Translation of Relics of St Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra to Bari celebrated in the Ciuflea Monastery in Chisinau

On the Feast of the Translation of Relics of St. Nicholas from Myra to Bari, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Monastery of St. Theodore of Tyre (Ciuflea) in Chisinau.

The Hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova was greeted with outstanding spiritual joy by the Confessor-administrator of this monastic settlement, Reverend Archimandrite Nicolae (Rosca), the clergy, the nuns, and numerous pilgrims who came to concelebrate this important and beautiful spiritual event.

At the Small Entrance, Hegumen Luca (Lozovanu), the Confessor of the Monastery of the Nativity of the Theotokos in Taraclia town, was advanced by the Metropolitan into the dignity of Archimandrite.

During the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolitan and the concelebrating clergy prayed to All-Good God, asking for the heavenly intercession of St. Nicholas of Myra, for peace and steadiness in the country, for the unity between people, and for the protection of the right-faithful from any seen or unseen danger.

This Divine Service was very special for deacon Petru Boian, who was ordained priest for the parish of St. Archangel Michael in Rublenita village, Soroca region. Metropolitan Vladimir congratulated the freshly ordained priest on this blessed occasion, wishing him to be worthy of this high mission, bearing the cross entrusted to him with spiritual humility and utmost piety.

After the Liturgy, the Metropolitan and the concelebrating clergy officiated a Thanks-Giving service, praying for the health and blessing of the entire nation.

His Eminence Vladimir congratulated Archimandrite Nicolae on the feast of his Heavenly Protector, Great Hierarch Nicholas of Myra. The Metropolitan expressed high appreciation of father Confessor’s efforts in the refurbishing and administration of this important and historical shrine in the heart of Moldova – the Monastery of Ciuflea.

In his turn, Archimandrite Nicolae thanked the Metropolitan, congratulating him on the feast of St. Nicholas, whose name was given to our hierarch at the baptismal. Fr. Nicolae wished the archpastor spiritual strength and health for the guidance of the ship of the Moldovan Orthodox Church.
