Much spiritual joy for the parishioners and clergy of St. George Church in Chisinau: the Patron Feast marking the 27th anniversary of re-opening this holy shrine was celebrated with a Divine Liturgy officiated by Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova.

During the Divine Service, parish clergy were awarded church distinctions: priest Gheorghe Simac was granted the right to wear gold Cross, and deacon Marian Covalciuc received the right of wearing the double orrarion.

After the cross procession around the church, closing the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolitan addressed a congratulation message to the parish rector, Archpriest Nicolae Florinsky, the clergy and the parishioners, mentioning the rector’s outstanding merits in the strengthening of the community and uniting it around one of the oldest churches of Chisinau. Metropolitan Vladimir expressed hope that the St. George parish will continue to be a remarkable spiritual centre for the education of the young generation in the light of traditional Christian values.

Father Nicolae Florinsky thanked the archpastor for sharing the liturgical joy of the day and for spiritual guidance.
