
On 6 April morning, H.E. Metropolitan Vladimir, the Hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, and H.G. Vicar Bishop Ioan of Soroca, had a meeting with the graduates of post-university qualification improvement program in national defence and security of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Moldova.
The event was held at the Meetings Chamber of the Metropolitan Residence.
The Metropolitan greeted the guests, thanking for their interest in the activity of the Orthodox Church of Moldova. The hierarch presented to the audience a brief outline of the ecclesiastical life of our country and informed the guests about the pastoral and missionary activity of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
The military asked numerous questions to the Metropolitan, expressing vivid interest in the issues discussed, and talked about their involvement in the country’s social life.
We mention that the group of graduates included several clergy who are currently undergoing or have graduated the post-university program of qualification improvement in the area of national defence and security of the Republic of Moldova. The mentioned priests perform spiritual and pastoral mission among the armed forces: Archimandrite Nicolae (Rosca) is Chairman of the Synodal Sector of Pastoral Activity in the structures of the MIA, Archpriest Valeriu Gitu is member of this sector, and Archpriest Corneliu Dobrogeanu is the Chairman of the Synodal Sector of Pastoral Activity within the structures of the Ministry of Defence.
