The lead of the Orthodox Church of Moldova participated in the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Igor Dodon

Friday, 23 December 2016, the elected President Igor Dodon was invested into the office. Present at the inauguration event was His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova, the members of the Synod of the OCM, and the Metropolitan Secretary, Archpriest Vadim Cheibas.

The event took place at the Palace of the Republic, in the presence of Moldovan state officials and foreign high-rank guests.

Mr. Igor Dodon made the oath holding the right hand on the Constitution of The Republic of Moldova, after which he was officially invested by the Interim Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission, Mr. Victor Popa.

After the inauguration ceremony, the President and his family went to the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral to attend a Thanks-Giving Service was officiated by the Metropolitan and the clergy, and then headed towards the monument of the Right-Faithful Prince Saint Stephan the Great.

The President of the Republic of Moldova has four-year office since the oath statement. Igor Dodon was declared the winner of presidential elections after obtaining a majority of suffrage within the second tour of elections in November, becoming the fifth President of the Republic of Moldova.
