The pastoral and missionary activity of the Church appreciated by the lead of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

Tuesday 3 January 2017, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir received at the Metropolitan Residence the Vice-Minister of Internal Affairs, Commander of Carabineri Troops, Major General Ion Turcan and a group of staff and veterans of the Carabineri Troops Department of the MIA.

Participating at the meeting were the Metropolitan Secretary, Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Chairman of the Synodal Sector of Pastoral Activity within the MIA and Law-Enforcement Authorities, Archimandrite Nicolae (Rosca), and Chairman of the Synodal Sector of Pastoral Activity within the National Army Forces, Archpriest Corneliu Dobrogeanu.

The Vice-Minister congratulated the Metropolitan on the new calendar year, and underlined the willingness and welcoming of more open and stronger collaboration with the Church in the new year. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the foundation of Carabineri Troops of the MIA, and in sign of appreciation of the devotion and pastoral ministry among MIA and CTD, Metropolitan Vladimir and Archpriest Vadim Cheibas were awarded the anniversary distinction “Carabineri Troops – 25 years since the foundation”.

His Eminence Vladimir thanked the Vice-Minister and other guests for their devotion and professionalism in their work, wishing them to continue persevering and serving as good example to their staff. The Metropolitan expressed full confidence that the lead of the MIA will continue proving rightful attitude and open-mindedness in relation to their collaborators’ spiritual life.

In the end, Archimandrite Nicolae (Rosca), on behalf of all those present, expressed deep gratitude to the Metropolitan for restless support, promising that they will further promote the values of Orthodoxy within the MIA and CTD, with utmost devotion to the society, striving to fulfil the word of God and bearing spiritual verticality.
