Saturday, 4 February 2017, when the Orthodox Church celebrates the feast of Holy Apostle Timothy, one of the 70 apostles, the hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the All Saints Church, known also as The Church of the Deported, situated in Botanica sector of Chisinau.
Concelebrating to the Metropolitan at the Liturgy were Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, the metropolitan secretary, Archpriest Ioan Baltag, the parish rector, Archpriest Veniamin Onu, a missionary in Italy, other priests and deacons from Chisinau.
During the Divine Service, His Eminence Vladimir awarded church distinctions to the parish rector, Archpriest Ioan Baltag, and to Archpriest Veniamin Onu.
Serghei Gogu, graduate of the Orthodox Theology Academy of Moldova, was ordained by the Metropolitan into the dignity of deacon, appointed to office in the Church of St. Basil the Great in Chisinau.
After the Thanks-Giving service, the hierarch distributed archpastoral diplomas to the ctitors and benefactors of the parish, thanking them for their contribution and support of the parish life.
The parish rector thanked the Metropolitan for this fatherly visit and prayerful guidance, mentioning the atmosphere of utmost spiritual joy that marked the church-goers present at the Service.
